CORN
Wednesday, Oct 22
The October Ag in the Classroom lesson, presented by the Schuyler County Farm Bureau, focused on corn. Kindergarten through 2nd grades listened to the book “Corn an A-to-Z Book” by Susan Anderson. Ms. Hulvey showed them an 8-foot corn stalk and identified each part of the stalk. The students then labeled a diagram of a corn stalk. The 3rd/4th-grade students listened to “Corn in the Story of Agriculture” by Susan Anderson. They learned about the corn stalk and then were divided into two teams to play a game based on the lesson. All the students enjoyed a snack of corn chips and were able to take home a Corn Ag Mag to read.
