New Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedure The Washington Elementary pick-up/drop-off system will be changed starting April 15, 2013. Curt Lunt, the director of transportation, and myself have developed a solution to make the loading and unloading of students safer.We are removing staff parking from the north side of the school to Lafayette Street, except for five spaces for staff only parking. Parent parking will be on Buchanan Street only.Construction barrels, which have been donated by Sipes’ Construction, will be lined up on East Washington Street as the barrier to the street.The staff has been instructed to load and receive students in the pickup/drop off zone. The zone will start on the west end of Washington Street.Drivers will enter the zone and wait in line until you get to the specified pickup/drop off area.We will load students from the south side and not the north side of the vehicle.Please place booster seats so that staff does not have to walk on the street side of the pickup/drop off zone. We hope this will make the process of picking up and dropping off students safer.It is my intention to implement this now, to help us better understand any errors in the plan and make the necessary adjustments. You can find the PowerSchool shortcut located at the bottom of this page. Stop by the school office during regular office hours to pick up your student's Id and password.
